I felt it went quite well today. I was very glad to be first, getting it out the way so I could concentrate on the other presentations. It was helpful feedback. I hadn’t thought my final painting idea linked on from my initial thoughts. I’m interested by that and I can see now they are. I agreed totally with the video piece being my weakest work. I want to develop it on, although I’m not quite sure how. It is was bitty and incoherent because the different aspects didn’t linked well. Going to keep developing my paintings, using acrylic and colour, working on the tone in the building. I also want to try some other similar compositions looking mainly at the sky. I want to get over my nerves of public speaking and to stop using words such as, ‘like’, ‘um’ and the phrase, ‘or something’.

Ice and Jelly
December 10, 2007

The Ice cast took two attempts. First time round I hadn’t left the mould in the freezer for long enough, only eight hours or so. This successful piece took around twenty-four. I quite like this astheically. I tried jelly, because I really want to cast five wheels and see what its like to sit on a jelly chair. This is going to have to wait, as the jelly was far too wobbly and fell apart when I took it out of the mould.

I’ve pretty much had a great week.
I like casting.

I want to use this flexible mold to make loads of stuff. Ice and jelly wheels coming soon.
