Collaboration

November 13, 2007

Some more progress! Been feeling like we could have done more to each other’s pieces like we aren’t inspired when we get stuff. So I thought about handing out the drawings to different people to get some more energy into the project. I’m going to ask a couple of my friends, who don’t do art, if they’d like to do some too. I think this could have some very good or really bad effects. I hope they do stuff.

Feeling like these are finished? Any opinions??

However, these aren’t ;

I’m happy with this. I really liked what laura had done with the hands. Today Sofie drew the blue in and I drew some lines in the box.

After doing the painting class, I got really motivated to paint again, and after watching a video about Luican Freud. Painting pretty much wins. So I wanted to put some tone into this figure. Sofie also scratched into them, so i got the idea to use the grator and I think it really worked, especially when the paint was still wet.

I’ve pretty much reduced this to nothing today by mistake. Guess it’s all part of the process.

Tried to layer them, not being shy and all, going for it. I guess its not terrible but.. hopefully somemore layers will help.

Just finished my first working onto Laura’s drawing. Thought I should record this process. I’m excited. I haven’t really done too much I want to leave a lot of room for her ideas. I plan to give her a picture of what I’ve been drawing from so she can, if she wants, continue with it. We have both decided to try out doing volume in figurative terms. This could change i am really excited that this can change at anytime.

Today

Pretty sweet wall at my bus stop. I was thinking it would be pretty cool to draw. I’m sort of not sure what I think but I want to use it in conjunction with the collaboration project. I though the line at the top of all the rocks looked interesting. I thought it sort of could be like lots of people and I could draw the line between all of them. That’d be volume yeah? Because you have loads of folk each with their own volume but together its a bigger volume? hum. I just want to draw people I guess.
